Brooks Midge Emerger

          Hook:        Emerger hook sizes 18 to 24.

          Thread:     Black, 8/0 or 70-denier.

          Shuck:      Black antron on zelon.

          Post:         Small white foam cylinder or a piece cut from a sheet.

          Body:        Black Thread.

          Thorax:     Black super fine dubbing.

          Hackle:     Black dry fly. (use grizzly if you don't have it)

Although not essential, using a black thread that you can spin to flatten will allow you to make a smoother body.  Also, other body colors can be used to suit local preferences.
