Fran Betters who lived on the banks of the West Branch of the Ausable in the Adirondacks came up with this fly during the 60's to fish the tumbling streams of the area. An attractor pattern which seems to imitate a variety of bugs, it is an indispensable fly that ought to be in every fly fisher's fly box.
- Hook: size 12 to 16 2X long dry fly
- Thread: florescent orange (or substitute)
- Tail: woodchuck
- Wing: white calf tail
- Body: brown cinnamon or orange cinnamon Australian possum (or substitute)
- Hackle: brown and grizzly mixed
