February's Speaker: Rich Hudgens

Streamer Fishing (and other tactics)in the Delaware River System

Currently the head guide for the Beaverkill Angler, Rich Hudgens has been guiding in the Upper Delaware River System for the past 11 years.  His spending over 100 days a year on the water allows him to spot certain trends.

These include:

  • Which section of river fishes the best at what CFS
  •  which rivers produce the heaviest hatches of each subspecies of mayflies,
    and most importantly
  • which method of fly fishing consistently produces the largest fish.

His answer to this last question...streamer fishing

Rich will go over what type of water to target, streamer size, various retrieves, and the importance water levels and temperature have on all of these. You will learn the importance of being a competent streamer angler and how streamer fishing has the ability to turn a bad day on on the river into possibly catching that fish of a lifetime. We are honored to have Rich come share his knowledge with us. We look forward to seeing you there.
